Q. What is remanufacturing?
A. Remanufacturing is an industrial process whereby spent inkjet cartridges are disassembled and cleaned, refilled, engineered to become "as new", fully tested, and then marketed as own-brand cartridges, competing on the basis of price and quality with new cartridges. The empty cartridges are collected from consumers, businesses, charities, sporting clubs, schools, etc. At the forefront of the development of new, environmentally friendly manufacturing, the remanufacturing industry is also instituting new, industry-wide systems and initiatives which are creating a recognizable foundation of quality and effective management across all markets. Indeed, many firms within the industry are now developing new product and marketing ideas on a par with the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).

Q. What is the difference between remanufactured and compatible ink cartridges?
A. There is a big difference between the two, but often the terms are misused interchangeably. Compatible cartridges are essentially new cartridges made to fit in your printer. These cartridges are made of lower quality materials that cannot be re-used adding to increased toxic waste, energy use, and carbon output.

Q. Are remanufactured cartridges poorer quality than the branded originals?
A. No, not if you are dealing with a reputable brand like DoorStepInk. We stand behind our cartridges and back them with a 100% satisfaction guarantee.

Q. Are all Remanufactured cartridges the same?
A. No, not all cartridges are remanufactured equally the same. Many companies will use inferior supplies and or cut corners to save money in the remanufacturing process. This often leads to defective or poor-quality cartridges.

Q. Why buy remanufactured cartridges?
A. Remanufactured cartridges are the first choice for consumers who recognize that printer ink is often the largest cost they have when buying a printer or a copier. Business users can benefit from reduced costs in printer cartridges without any loss in quality. Home users of computer printers and faxes are also recognizing that remanufactured cartridges - which are often up to 20%-50% cheaper than the OEM equivalents - represent a real, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly choice for them.

Q. How does remanufacture ink cartridges help the environment?
A. Every year, more than 500 million plastic printer cartridges end up dumped in landfills around the world. But cartridges can be remanufactured for re-use, easily up to 2-3 times: our industry substantially reduces the number of cartridges going to landfill, in an ideal world by a staggering 66-75%! Every cartridge that we remanufacture is one fewer going directly to the landfill. For every remanufactured cartridge purchased, it is one less new cartridge that needs to be produced, saving energy, and preventing it from entering the waste stream and from draining the planet's natural resources.

Q. How do you substantiate your claims about "being green"?
A. The re-use of the plastics and metals used in toner and print cartridges is by far the most environmentally friendly method of dealing with what is, essentially, a waste product - the empty cartridge. By extending the lifecycle of an empty OEM cartridges uses 95% less energy to manufacture than creating a new cartridge. Remanufacturing, however, is not only about being 'green'; it is a sustainable solution to protecting the environment while delivering significant cost benefits.

Q. What is your return policy?
A. We offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee. If you are not happy with the cartridge in any way, we will work with you to solve your issue or provide you your money back.

Q. Do you require a minimum number of empty cartridges to receive a free shipping label when sending in inkjet cartridges?
A. Yes, there is a minimum of 4 items per box.

Q. Is there a maximum weight for the boxes I want to send using the free shipping label?
A. No, there is no maximum weight on shipments. You will need to contact us with package dimensions and weight for us to send you a free shipping label. If you have any questions, please contact our customer service department at (833) 438-4657 or sales@doorstepink.com and we will be glad to assist you.

Q. Do you accept remanufactured or compatible cartridges?
A. Yes, we accept all inkjet cartridges, regardless of their make, model, or condition.

Q. Do you accept lasers/toners?
A. No, we do not accept laser & toner cartridges for recycling.

Q. Do I need to use my own boxes to ship my empty cartridges to you?
A. Yes, you should use any box that fits your empty cartridges to ship. Make sure the box is sturdy and will survive shipping. If available, you can use the DoorStepInk box your new cartridges arrived in. It was designed for customers to return their empty cartridges to us. Also, please place empty cartridges in a plastic bag or Ziploc to prevent leaking. If you have any questions, please contact our customer service department at (833) 438-4657 or sales@doorstepink.com and we will be glad to assist you.
